I'm cured.

I don't know how it works, and frankly, I don't care. It's not a placebo, it's not positive thinking, it's not psychology. It's just chemistry and Eastern medicine. It's been only six months and I almost got rid of my spot completely. I have also given up the make-up. I have no words to express how thankful I am to the dentist assistant who shared with me the truth I had been seeking for 12 years. And I send all the gratitude in my heart to a nameless Chinese man who gave me my skin back. I hope you can benefit from this natural remedy too. Good luck and spread the news. I just stumbled across your blog and am so encouraged as I have fresh ginger in my freezer! I have been living with hypopigmentation for going on 2 years now as a result of laser hair removal gone wrong. Thank you for posting this and helping others. There's so little info on hypo and it helps to know I'm not alone. I'll keep you posted!

Dear Melinda:
I would be obliged to you from the bottom of my heart, if you can provide me the contact information for "Chinese Man" who treated you. I am a young fellow who has been diagnosed with Parkinson disease at very young age. I am wondering if this Chinese gentleman would be able to help me out. I would sincerely appreciate your help..

Hey! This is looking good!
Just thought I'd add a little info.

The melanocytes that create skin pigment are in the *bottom* layer of the skin, so you need to get the ginger to soak in.
I've been using a garlic press to squeeze out some ginger juice from a few chunks of ginger root, into a measuring spoon, and applying a couple drops 5 or 6 times over a half hour or so (every day) to make sure it soaks in. I'm use a large nail (not sharp!) - but anything (like metal) that won't soak up the juice would work.
I think just wiping a little on directly from a piece of ginger is not enough to penetrate the skin far enough.
Good luck!

I would like to know if this has worked for you. Is there an email address you can be contacted at?

I recently acquired 2 white spots on my face however I have not been to a dermatologist yet to confirm whether or not it is vitiligo or hypo-pigmentation.

The only reason I believe it to be hypo-pigmentation is because I've done some reading on both vitiligo and hypo. and learned that hypo. can be caused by sun damage among other things.

I was in the sun during last summer. I went tanning just once out of the whole summer and noticed days later that I woke up with dry, cut skin (like when you have really badly chapped lips and they form tiny cuts) at both corners of my mouth. After applying moisturizer to heal them, the dead skin flaked away and what I was left with were 2 completely white, discolored spots at each corner. One larger than the other.

It is very difficult to deal with this as it is smack dab on my face. I have never been one to use much makeup and now I find myself using coverup and pressed powder almost daily to try and blend it in as much as I can. I will also purchase dermablend so that I can get full coverage while I figure out some kind of cure.

I have begun the ginger treatment since Friday (11/23/12) and apply it to the spots twice a day. (I am tempted to do it more times in a day but I am not sure if that is overdoing it.)

PLEASE keep me updated on your progress. I want to believe there is SOMETHING out there that can take this away! :(

Hello People, about a month ago I burned myself severely on my chin, breast and right forearm. I was devastated, when I looked in the mirror. Plus I just started a new job so you know I was even more embarrassed. I could not get intimate with my husband, because I was afraid that he would be repulsed by my breast. My husband would say that he it's not that bad but I know that he was just trying to make me feel better. Im of darker complexion and the contrast of the hypopigmentation was very noticeable. I read online about the ginger root. I called my husband and had him pick me up some. I was very skeptical I said "well things cant get that much worse." I've been using it for about two weeks now and I can honestly say that it is working. I don't know how, and I really don't care, but it is. you just have to be consistent. Use everyday, for best results twice a day. The pigment is slowing coming back. I still use makeup for the chin, but I know that in a few more weeks I wont need it. I keep saying that its just my imagination. that something as simple as ginger can not really make my skin improve. But yes it is. I wish I would have taken pics before I started, but to be honest I didn't think it was going to work. It really works! just be consistent and don't give up.

OMG thank you so much for your blog. I started buying ginger for some white spots all over my body and I am already seeing improvement but after some time I got really lazy to keep buying fresh ginger. I highly recommend this gel product that has ginger as its main ingredient. It is called Hypophil I have been using this gel every day and it is giving me even better results then when I was slicing ginger every day. I highly recommend that you check it out!
